As many as 40,000 people signed a petition refusing the mandatory PCR test to travel by air or on an airplane despite having been vaccinated twice. Through two online petitions on the Change.org platform, more than 40,000 people asked the government to change the policy. The first petition was made by Dewangga Pradityo Putra, an aircraft engineer. In his petition, he considers the policy that requires a person to do a PCR test even though he has been vaccinated twice, will cause fewer flights so that supporting industries will be even more difficult.
The same request was made by Herlia Adisasmita, a resident of Bali. For Herlia, Bali, which relies on tourism, really expects the arrival of domestic tourists. With the mandatory PCR regulation, it is considered to be burdensome and even makes the industry face more difficult conditions, especially considering the price of the test is too expensive.
Furthermore, Dewangga hopes that the government will again make antigen as a condition for flights, especially for those who have been vaccinated. “With this condition, I believe the aviation and tourism industry will rise, and the number of people who want to be vaccinated will also increase,” he said. To this day, the government has not changed the policy. In the latest development, the government stated that the price of the PCR test will be lowered to Rp300 thousand for one test. The mandatory PCR test policy will apply to all flight modes.
