Indonesia On High Alert For Third Covid-19 Pandemic Wave

 

The development of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is currently showing improvement. In the past weeks, positive cases of Covid-19 decreased by 26 percent, while deaths decreased by 37 percent. However, Indonesia is predicted by experts to face the third wave of Corona in the next few months. Some predict the third wave will occur around December, some predict in early 2022 or February. Amid the improvement of the COVID-19 vaccination program, some people may be curious about how bad the third wave of COVID-19 will be in Indonesia. whether it will be lower or beat the second wave last July which could reach 50 thousand per day.

On the contrary, The head of the Mitigation Team for the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Adib Khumaidi said that Indonesia had already passed the third wave of Covid-19. According to CNN, Adib said the prediction might be correct if in December there was no spike in Covid-19 cases. This means, according to Adib, the third wave occurred last July.

 

 

As of October 16th, the positive case of Covid-19 in Indonesia increased by 997 cases on Saturday (16/10). Thus, the total accumulation of Covid-19 in Indonesia since March 2, 2020, has been recorded at 4,234,011 cases.

 

Based on data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, there were an additional 1,525 people recovered from the coronavirus infection on the same day. This brings the total number of recovered cases to 4,072,332 people.
