How to prepare a perfect grazing board?

In 2021, many food trends we’ve seen start this year will likely carry over, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic continues and people continue to cook at home and DIY, order take-out, and get more things than ever delivered.

One of the food trends during this pandemic was homemade grazing tables. They are suddenly everywhere and it is about artfully piling all kinds of different foods directly onto tables and countertops. The idea has become popular with those who want to serve up a dramatic dining display, even though it may give pause to guests. But, during this pandemic, people began to create Insta-worthy grazing boards for small celebrations and for casual family dinners.

Simply, it’s an artfully arranged spread of food on a large cutting board that consists of mainly meats and cheeses. But at many restaurants or house parties, it’s common for these boards to include bread, fruits, nuts, condiments such as honey or mustard, pickles, and olives. It involves drinking some type of alcohol with it, usually wine.

 

These tips will help you create a beautiful platter that will knock their socks off!

TIP 1

If you don’t have a chopping board, you can use a baking sheet/baking tray or marble pastry board.

Have 2-5 kinds of cheese.

Dips are easy to make at home, like Whipped Feta, Avocado Cilantro Dip or Hummus.

It is best to stick to things that are seedless (grapes, olives, etc.). That way, no one gets a nasty surprise.

Just like a selection of cheeses, a selection of different crackers is good too. Sliced baguettes or pita bread make a great addition as well.

A grazing board is a style of dining presentation wherein a board is filled with room-temperature-friendly finger food. Be creative to make it visually appealing and easy to pick up and nibble at the food. So, you can enjoy it whether you’re watching television, chatting with your friends or even having a snack at night.
