How Konami Ruin The Legacy Of Pro Evolution Soccer Through Efootball

 

Konami has officially released its newest soccer game, eFootball 2022, on Wednesday  (9/29). This game itself is a rebrand of the iconic game made by Konami, Pro Evolution Soccer (PES).  eFootball Itself brings a very different concept from its predecessor,  with the game itself now has become free-t0-play instead of premium games. Interestingly, Efootball takes a step further to compete with its eternal rival in football games, FIFA by depending on in-game microtransaction. However…

 

Not long after its launch, the game got a lot of bad reviews. Even eFootball 2022 has even been named as one of the games with overwhelmingly negative reviews or the worst on the Steam platform. Efootball only gets 9 percent positive reviews from a total of 13,950 reviewers. So what happens with eFootball?what makes this game is so bad?

 

1. Lacks of feature

The first thing that you will do when playing football games is adapt yourself with the control, practice your skills through exhibition match with your favorite teams. That’s not how we do it in eFootball. You will only give 9 teams, with 4 out of 9 being a Brazilian club that you are probably not familiar with, nothing compared to Pro Evolution Soccer when you will have so many teams from the 5 top world leagues include their second division teams.

 

Moving further to the gameplan layout, Konami takes your freedom to set your game plan and strategy to another level. They removed the strategy and formation option, so you have to do it manually, which is take so much time, this is different if you compare to Pro Evolution Soccer when you still have the option to set your formation, and gameplay easily.

 

2. Bug glitch and bad graphic

It is rare for Pro Evolution Soccer players to experience glitches or errors that disturb their gaming experience, but not with Efootball. Because it contains many visual defects and annoying bugs. Even something as simple as a running player animation can seem messy.

 

3. The disappearance of Master League and Become a Legend

Well, you could say that this is the biggest disappointment that Konami did. they decided to remove Master League and Become a Legend that has become an iconic feature. They made eFootball like a trial or pre-release game because of their effort to beat FIFA.

 

Through their Social Media account, Konami has apologized for so much negative feedback and disappointment towards Efootball and it is interesting to wait for their first patch update on 10/28.
