‘House of Gucci’ Unveils Character Posters

MGM published a set of character posters for Ridley Scott’s upcoming film House of Gucci. The film, which stars Lady Gaga and Adam Driver and is based on Sara Gay Forden’s 2001 book The House Of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed, will be released in the United States on November 24 by United Artists Releasing.

The new round of posters features Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, and Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, who was previously featured in a first look shot as Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in character as Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci. In what is the actor’s latest unrecognizable film transformation, Leto appears behind prosthetics.

The movie follows how Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga), Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife, attempted to assassinate her husband, the grandson of renowned fashion designer Guccio Gucci. Pina Auriemma, played by Salma Hayek, was a clairvoyant friend of “Black Widow” Reggiani, who was sentenced to 26 years in prison following her conviction in 1998.

Patrizia Gucci, the great-granddaughter of Guccio Gucci, sent a statement to The Associated Press after the first look photo from “House of Gucci” was released earlier this year, denouncing the project. The casting of Al Pacino and Jared Leto as Aldo and Paolo Gucci, respectively, is one of Patrizia Gucci’s main concerns with Scott’s new film. “My grandfather was a very handsome man, like all the Guccis, and quite tall, blue eyes, and extremely elegant,” the Gucci heir remarked. Al Pacino, who is already small, plays him, and this photo depicts him as fat, short, with sideburns, and incredibly ugly. Shameful, because he bears no resemblance to him.”
