Horror Series to Watch on Halloween

Halloween is coming! It is not Halloween without watching any horror movie or series, right? Here are some recommendations of the horror series that you should watch on Netflix this Halloween!

1. The Haunting of Hill House (2018)

   

   This TV series by Mike Flanagan was released on October 12, 2018. There are 10 episodes with parallel plots. The story begins when the Crain family with five children temporarily move into a big old house on a hill. While living there, they experience many supernatural events that make them lose one of their family members. Since then, the siblings live separately for 26 years. One day, five of them reunited because of a mysterious tragedy that makes them aware of the irregularities in the “Hill House” which affect their lives until their adulthood. This series shows a different point of view in each episode so the audience won’t get bored watching this.

2. Midnight Mass (2021)
   

   

   Another series from writer-director Mike Flanagan, Midnight Mass tells about a life on an island called Crockett Island. The people who live on this island are known to be very religious. They routinely carry out worship at St. Patrick’s Church, which is led by an old priest called Monsinyur Pruitt. One day, Monsinyur Pruitt is replaced temporarily by Father Paul because of his health condition. Since his arrival to Crockett Island, strange things have continued to come to the area. For instance, dozens of cat carcasses  appeared suddenly on the beach. Not only that, the residents also experience good things such as miracles. For example, a girl who used to sit in a wheelchair can now walk normally. These strange events make the community split into two camps. Some think Paul has brought heresy. However, there are also those who believe in the Christian teachings brought by Paul. This series got 7.8 rating from IMDB.

3. Slasher: Solstice (2019)
   

   

   For those who love thriller series, this series will satisfy you. The third season of Slasher entitled “Solstice” begins with the death of Kit Jennings in front of an apartment complex. He’s killed by a mysterious character in a hooded cloak wearing a mask adorned with a creepy, abstract face. One year later, on the same date as Jennings’ death, the masked killer butchers one of the eyewitnesses of Jennings’ death. Then, the apartment residents begin to disappear mysteriously and died sadistically.
