NISSAN officially retires the GT-R in the Japanese Super GT auto racing championship at the end of the 2021 season, after 13 years of competing in the Super GT GT500 class. Instead, the car will be replaced by the latest model, the Nissan Z, which will debut in the 2022 Super GT.
The Nissan Z, which is built to the GT500 specifications, will compete with the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra. The display looks low, wide, and cruel. From the silhouette, the image hints at the styling of the line-shaped headlights and creates a visual connection between the race car and the coupe.
home modifications Nismo added a body kit to the aggressive-looking Nissan Z that includes canards on the front bumper, a wide air diffuser, and a large wing at the rear. Many add-ons made with carbon fibre are made to keep weight under control. In terms of the legs of the Z GT500, the Big Brake Kit (BBK) has been implanted and the black wheels are covered with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Regarding engine specifications, technically, Nissan has not released any info on it. However, looking at the standard regulations of the race regulations dictate that, teams must use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with a single turbocharger. These specifications require using a six-speed paddle-shift transmission. On average, most of the cars competing in this category produce around 650 horsepower.
For comparison, the Z series, which will land in showrooms as a model in the year 2023, is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine with up to 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Six rear wheel spins are mated to a six-speed manual transmission, although an automatic unit will also be available later. The manufacturer-assembled Nissan Z GT500 will start racing during the 2022 Super GT season. This racing unit would later compete with the Acura NSX-GT, which was sold as Honda in most markets outside the United States (including Japan) and against one of its direct competitors: the Toyota Supra.
