Heartstopper Renewed For Seasons Two And Three

 

Netflix’s newest hit tv show, Heartstopper wowed fans of the graphic novel and novices alike when it dropped on the streaming platform late last month. Centered on two new friends Charlie and Nick, the high school boys find that there might be something more than friendship between them.

 

 

With the praise and fanfare that Heartstopper earned, it’s a delight for fans to hear that the tv show has been renewed for two more seasons. Though great news, this is somewhat of a surprise, because Netflix is known for canceling its shows at the height of their prime. And it isn’t the only show that received early renewal, Netflix’s newest phase. Bridgerton broke into the streaming service and amounted to large praise, securing security. But, just like Bridgerton, this is a good sign for Heartstopper, and the chance for more seasons later on past season three is hopeful. Until then, this announcement will only help its popularity and keep the fandom close.

 

 

With the news of renewal, excitement is building for season two, as season one gave fans everything they could want and more. Fans of the novel will notice the attention to detail by those behind the show, as many instances in the graphic novel are seen in the show. This sweet homage makes for fun little moments of deja vu of the source material and is a nice way to keep the show and book closely interwoven.

 

 

Heartstopper is one of the best queer projects to come out so far this year, alongside Crush, a film starring Disney star Rowan Blanchard about a teen who finds herself infatuated with two very different girls. And it seems that 2022 will be a year full of great queer representation as more and more projects are teased. Included in this is the new Hellraiser tv show starring trans actor Jaime Clayton as Pinhead, as well as My Policeman, starring Harry Styles and directed by Micheal Grandage, who is openly queer.

 

Heartstopper is part of the continued wave of representation for queer folks, and it’s a delight to see it receive confirmation so fast.
