Get to know the beagle queens!

Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa are members of the South Korean girl group founded by Rainbow Bridge World Entertainment whom formerly called WA Entertainment, created the group in 2014. On June 18, 2014, the group released their debut single, “Mr. Ambiguous.”  and  music industry experts considered their first release album and performance as a standout among the other group new debuts due to their retro, jazz, and R&B concepts, as well as their superb vocal performance, that have earned them recognition.

Since their first EP, Hello, in 2014, MAMAMOO have blossomed into a K-pop group powerhouse, building on a punk pop platform to include unexpected twists like the guitar riff that gives the strutting “AHH OOP!” a fun and energetic atmosphere.

Their group name “Mamamoo” is a play on words that refers to the first time an infant babbles. It also means approaching naturally and primitively, as if you were a newborn. If you think that’s funny, there is a lot more of things that would shock you once you start to watch them!

 

MEMBERS OF THE GROUP

SOLAR

Her real name is Kim Yong Sun, the group’s leader, main vocalist, visual, and face of the group.

She considers herself Mamamoo’s Mom but a big scaredy-cat, due to her fear of roller coasters or high rides and ghosts.

MOONBYUL

Moon Byul-Yi is her real name, commonly called Moonstar as ‘byul’ in english term means star and she often use it as stage name. She is the rapper and in-charge as the lead dancer or perfomance.

Moonbyul originally auditioned to be a vocalist but changed to become a rapper instead and have  received massive attention for resemblance to BTOB’s Minhyuk and EXO’s Xiumin.

WHEEIN 

Jung Whee In is her birth name and had a nicknamed “Jindo Dog” because of her resemblance to one. She has a very versatile range in singing and uses different techniques! A self-proclaimed “Snack Queen” who likes to draw and has a cat named Ggomo/Kkomo who has appeared in many of her photo and video diaries but lastly, Wheein has 12 tattoos who probably had the most among the other member in the group.

HWASA

She is Ahn Hye Jin, her real name. She is a vocalist, rapper and maknae or the youngest one in the group. She has known Whee In since middle school and used to record guide vocals for 4Minute. She also likes listening to ‘Old Jazz Music’ and  She really really loves RIHANNA.
