Following the success of Squid Game, Hellbound, and The Silent Sea, the South Korean drama production start to expand their market to the thriller genre. They even take famous stars into their project. The latest news said Park Seo-Joon and Han So-Hee will star in a new thriller drama Gyeongseong Creature.

Han So-Hee is a star on the rise after being featured in the popular drama Nevertheless and My Name. Meanwhile, Park Seo-Joon is known for his act in Itaewon Class, and he also features in an upcoming Marvel movie. The project’s team announced that the two will play the lead roles in the drama.

As the title suggests, the scene will take place in Gyeongseong, the colonial name of Seoul during Japan’s invasion in 1945. The story follows two young adults who fight an odd creature to survive. Jang Tae-Sang (Park Seo-Joon) is a wealthy man from Bukchon Hannok village in Gyeongseong. He has keen thoughts and is respected by the villagers.

His life changes as he meets Yoon Chae-Ok (Han So-Hee). Chae-Ok is a woman who is looking for her missing mother and is very skilled in weaponry in order to survive the horrible situation.

The Squid Game star Wi Ha-Joon features in the drama as Tae-Sang’s best friend. It is enough to thrive the fans enthusiast for the upcoming drama.

Gyeongseong Creature is directed by Jung Dong-Yoon and the screenplay is written by Kang Eun-Kyung. The release date of the show remains unclear. But, the production team make sure that the show will release next year in 2023.
