Despite returning to the platform only three months ago, GTA 5 appears to be leaving the Xbox Game Pass service soon, according to a listing on the Xbox Game Pass mobile app.
The Xbox Game Pass mobile app hints that Grand Theft Auto V will shortly leave the program following a three-month stay. GTA V was added to Games Pass in April 2021 for console and cloud customers, but it wasn’t the first time the game had been on Microsoft’s burgeoning streaming platform.
The popular open-world game originally joined Xbox Game Pass in January 2020, which is an unquestionably interesting addition to the program. Despite the fact that many games stay in the catalog for a long time, Grand Theft Auto V left in May after only a few months. Its return in April was unexpected, but there’s now reason to assume the Grand Theft Auto game’s latest Game Pass term may soon come to an end.
GTA V is currently included in the “Leaving Soon” section of the Xbox Game Pass mobile app, according to TrueAchievements, albeit no exact date is specified. While titles normally leave the service two weeks after obtaining the “Leaving Soon” tag, TrueAchievements reports that the Grand Theft Auto title, along with It Lurks Below and Undermine, could go as soon as August 1.
This limited Game Pass access appears to be a theme for Rockstar games. As previously stated, Grand Theft Auto V was only available for a few months on the service. Red Dead Redemption 2 did the same thing, entering Xbox Game Pass in May 2020 before leaving a few months later, on September 7. Microsoft has yet to confirm a possible sequel to the Red Dead prequel as of the time of writing.
