In a previous article, we looked at the first teaser of Google’s new Pixel 6 and 6 Pro phones. A month has passed and Google has finally unveiled the real deal. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are the latest iterations of Google’s own line of high-end phones.
These two models seem to be the most feature-packed Pixel phones we’ve seen yet. This is due to the new custom Tensor chip. According to Google, this chip is comparable to the Snapdragon 888, which is one of the best chipsets currently available on market. The chip is accompanied by 8GB of RAM in the Pixel 6 and 12GB in the 6 Pro. This chipset allows for some new functions like motion blur and the magic eraser tool.
How does it look?
When it comes to visuals, these phones are a breath of fresh air. With one glance, you can definitely tell that it is a Pixel phone. On the backside, the phone has a sleek-looking black bar housing a dual-camera setup and a subtle Google logo in the middle. The back of the Pixel 6 has a glossy glass texture, while the 6 Pro has a polished metal frame.
You can get the Pixel 6 in three different colors; Stormy Black, Sorta Seafoam and Kinda Coral. The Pixel 6 Pro comes in Stormy Black, Cloudy White and Sorta Sunny.

The camera-bar houses a 50MP main sensor which, according to Google, lets in 150% more light. The phones also have a 12MP ultrawide camera. The Pixel 6 Pro has an additional 48MP telephoto lens, granting it 4x optical zoom and 20x Super Res zoom.
What about the screen?
On the front side, both phones boast OLED displays with slightly different specs. The 6 has a 6.4-inch screen with 1080p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate while the 6 Pro has a 6.7-inch screen with 1440p display. The 6 Pro implements LTPO technology, which allows the phone to vary its refresh rate from 20Hz to 120Hz according to what is being displayed, saving battery life in the process.
Google unveiled the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro on October 19, and both will be available globally on October 25. Currently, we know that the Google Pixel 6 starts at $599 in the US for the 128GB model, while the 6 Pro starts at $799. We are not sure how these prices will translate into SEA, but stay tuned for more information.
