God of War: Ragnarok
Fans are receiving more and more details about God of War: Ragnarok.
The 2018 version blew people away so far that the game earned a nomination at the Game Awards, meaning it’s one of the biggest upcoming releases. Even though it didn’t win, everyone is hyped, and we’re getting more details of the game.
The first trailer we got was during the PlayStation Showcase in September. It shows off how Kratos and Atreus aged since God of War and confirms returning characters, like Freya, Mimir, Brok, and Sindri. It also reveals the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos in some gameplay footage against several enemy types.
Many hits from the first game will come back, and we pretty much know the basic plot of the game. Ragnarok is supposed to pick up years after the first game with Atreus learning the truth behind his real name “Loki” and stopping Ragnarok. If you don’t know Ragnarok, it’s a really cool world that pretty much means the end of the world.
In the game, Kratos and Atreus will look for the Norse god of war, Tyr, and fight off several Asgardians, including Thor. They’ll even fight Freya, who’s looking for some revenge.
When it comes to the release date, it’ll definitely be a while. According to Cory Barlog, the developer and director:
“I think one of the most important reasons is the first game took five years. The second game, I don’t know how long it’s going to take, but I’m just going to throw out that it’s going to take close to a similar time to do this.”
So, the best thing we can do is sit, wait, and maybe play the first game again in the meantime.
