Funny and Relatable Anime to Watch to Kill Time

Almost all of us have been at home due to the pandemic situation. During our free time, most of us would spend our time playing games or watching an animation. Here is a list of comedy anime to watch to kill time.

1. Asobi Asobase

Asobi Asobase was written by Rin Suzukawa and is serialize by Hakusensha’ s Young Animal Densi website from May 2015 until now. It was adapted into an anime and first aired on July 28 2018 by Lerche and last aired on September 23 2018.

We follow the life of Hanako Honda, an intelligent girl (academically) who has a weird sense of fashion, Olivia, an American girl who grew up in Japan her entire life lied to her friends that she understands English, and Kasumi Nomura, an introverted and timid girl.

2. The Way of  the Househusband

Genre: Comedy, a slice of life

Written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono, the manga was serialized by Shinchosha from February 23 2018 until the present and published in Kurage Bunch online manga magazine. The manga was then adapted into an anime by J.C Staff on April 8, 2021. Netflix announced a live adaptation of the manga that would be aired in summer 2022 by Sony Picture’s Entertainment. The series was also adapted to a live-action by Nippon TV in 2020.

This anime is a stop motion, so it is a little bit different than the other animes. Because of that, the anime relies heavily on the voice actors, music, and sound effects.

‘The Immortal Dragon’ was a nickname for Tatsu who was once a yakuza that was feared by both the police and the other yakuza. Soon after his disappearance, he came back with a change in profession, which is a househusband. We follow the daily life of Tatsu the househusband and the misunderstandings that always came to him, despite giving up violence.

3. Gugure! Kokkori-san

The manga was written by Midori Endo and published by Square Enix’s Gangan Joker from 2011 until 2016. The first episode of the anime was aired on October 5 2014 by TMS Entertainment, formally known as Tokyo Movie Shinsha. The last episode aired on December 21, 2014.

Kokkuri-san is a fox spirit that was summoned by Kohina Ichimatsu, a self-proclaimed expressionless doll who lives alone and likes to eat ramen. Seeing that, the Kokkuri decided to take care of Kohina. Soon after those other spirits start to live with them.

4. Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan

The manga was written and illustrated by Gaku Kuze. The manga is serialized by Ichijinsha’s Comic Pool digital manga magazine from May 12 2017 until now. The manga was then adapted into an anime by Studio Blanc and first aired on July 6 2021 and last aired on September 28, 2021.

Uramichi Omota who was an ex-gymnast work on a children’s tv show called ‘Together with Mama’ along with his coworkers. Uramichi would give depressing and harsh life lessons to the children even when the cameras are rolling.

5. The Disastrous Life of Saiki-Kusuo

The Disastrous Life of Saiki-Kusuo is written and illustrated by Shuichi Aso and published by Shueisha on their Weekly Shonen Jump from May 14 2012 until July 26 2018. The anime was first aired on July 4 2016 by J.C Staff.

Saiki Kusuo was born with psychic powers. Due to that, he is unable to live a normal life. We follow the daily life of Saiki and the obstacles that he faces and how he solve it with his powers.

So these are some comedy anime that I suggest you guys watch during this pandemic to kill time. There is a lot of other comedy anime to watch that I would suggest watching, so stick around and I will write more list of the anime to watch.
