Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a popular game created by Nintendo that many people all over the world play. The aim of the game is to develop your own island and collect fossils, fish, insects, and works of art to donate to the Museum and sell for Bells (the in-game currency).
It has been out for a couple of years now, but there will still be some facts about the game that are still widely unknown. Here, you will find five lesser-known facts, tips, and tricks.
1) There are two ‘furniture’ trees on the island
Most players know that if you shake a tree, sometimes a piece of furniture will fall out. However, not many know that a) furniture only appears in hardwood and pine trees, and b) there are actually two trees with an item of furniture to find.
Be sure to carry a net with you when you shake trees, in case you accidentally disturb a wasp nest!
2) Spiders can fall out of trees
So, you know about the wasps. You may know about bagworms. But did you know that, sometimes, a spider will fall out of a shaken tree? Don’t worry, it isn’t poisonous like the tarantulas and won’t go after your character, but you should still try to catch it to donate to the Museum.
3) You can plant more than 1000 Bells when growing a money tree
The majority of players know that you can plant a money tree once you’ve dug up 1000 Bells from the glowing spot on the ground. But did you know that you can actually plant more than that and get more of a reward?
1000 Bells will get around 3000-4000 in return once the tree has grown. Plant up to 10000 and get 3x the reward guaranteed! You can do this by opening your pockets, going to your Bell balance, and clicking it, then picking the 10000 Bells option. They will appear as a separate bag in your pocket space and you simply bury that in the glowing hole.
4) Don’t shoot down presents over a field of flowers
The presents that float over the island can be shot down using a slingshot and collected by the player. Many are aware that you should not shoot them over water as you will lose the gift. This rule also counts if the present falls in a field of flowers!
Be careful where you aim and ensure you can grab that mystery gift.
