Food That Brings People Together

Even though eating by yourself is peaceful, having a meal with people gives warmth and colour into our lives; whether they’re strangers or people that you know. It’s more meaningful when you make the food yourself because that way you can share your skills, recipes, culture, and love for food.

Shepherd’s Pie is a traditional English dish cooked with lamb and/mutton. It’s essentially a casserole with a base of cooked meat and veggies, covered with mashed potatoes, then oven baked until the mashed potatoes are golden brown. When you bite into it, you get mashed potatoes, crunchy pieces, minced meat, and veggies all in one mouthful. Make this for your parents, grandparents, and just hear their life stories, it’s always gonna be a good time. It’s hearty, food wise and gathering wise.

2. Lasagna

The Italian staple lasagne or lasagna that we all remember and enjoy descended in Italy in the Middle Ages in Naples. One of the earliest mentions of the current-day lasagne may be discovered in a 14th-century English cookbook, which featured a meal with sheets of pasta but no tomatoes. It just tastes better when you eat it with other people, i don’t know why. You can’t help but make it in big batches too.
