Flight Sim Cleared for Take Off

The all-new and improved Microsoft Flight Simulator will be released on Xbox series X | S.

Starting July 27th, 8:00 am PDT (1500Z) worldwide, Flight Sim will be available to play on Xbox. This is an achievement for Microsoft prior to bringing the game to Steam and other platforms. The Microsoft Flight Simulator is a series of amateur flight simulator programs for Microsoft Windows operating systems, and earlier for MS-DOS and Classic Mac OS. It is one of the longest-running, best-known, and most comprehensive home flight simulator programs on the market. It was an early product in the Microsoft application portfolio and differed significantly from Microsoft’s other software, which was largely business-oriented.

Flight Sim, at 38 years old, is the longest-running software product line for Microsoft, predating Windows by three years. It is one of the most longest-running PC video game series of all time, not only for Microsoft, but in the whole industry.

The first previews of the game dropped yesterday on Series X and Series S and feedbacks seems to be favoring them. Stating impressive running capacity on both consoles maintaining solid frame rates even on the budget Series S.

Microsoft FS provided a list of times (as seen above) to notify players regarding when the game will be available on their countries. Time ranges from early morning, up to late night on some other countries. Players could also pre-download all the 97GB of the game ahead of the release to by going to the Xbox Game Pass app and searching for Flight Sim, ensuring that you’re all ready to go when the release time rolls around.
