Fire Emblem Heroes reveals their December Legendary Hero. This one comes at quite a surprise as the reveal was of Byleth (again). Prior to this, avatar characters, such as Robin and Corrin, never received their opposite gender versions for their Legendary alts. Both Robin and Corrin received the female iteration of the avatar character, and it remained that way for years. Most assumed that it was to be the case that only one of the two versions would receive the Legendary alt treatment.
The existence of both iterations of possessed Robin with only one of them being a Legendary further reinforces the idea. So, when the male iteration of Legendary Byleth came out, most had assumed there wouldn’t be a female iteration of Legendary Byleth. Yet here we are. Perhaps we might even see the male iterations of Robin and Corrin as a Legendary as well someday. With that out of the way, if you haven’t already seen the trailer, you can check it out below:
As per usual, we’ll be taking a little look into their skillset and share our thoughts. At a glance, her kit seems to lean to a speedy stat spread. This would be no surprise as her base version already emphasizes her inclusion in the speed meta. Her tome, Professorial Guide, indicates a team-oriented playstyle. When alone however, Byleth can still apply her many weapon effects during the player phase, which shows an offense-leaning playstyle. Several points to mention about her kit:
- Her Special skill is, as usual, the signature Ruptured Sky.
- Atk/Spd Ideal and Lull Spd/Res, fine and premium inheritable skills. Atk/Spd Ideal is particularly rare during the time of this writing.
- Goddess Bearer, further emphasizes her team-oriented playstyle, as effects are only applied when Byleth is within two spaces of an ally.
In conclusion, Legendary Byleth is a very team-oriented unit, with a stat spread likely emphasizing her place in the speed meta. Her weapon’s effects let her and her allies keep special cooldown count effects on a level playing field. And her unique skill allows her to maneuver around her allies while further strengthening her offensive capability.
With that out of the way, the December Legendary Hero banner trailer has also revealed a new feature for premium subscription members. The sparking feature is now available on all banners, welcome news for those subscribing to the Feh Pass. Although, this will likely be viewed negatively by the free-to-play community. Several gacha games already have this feature implemented for all its player-base. One could see it as the developers giving back to its paying players, giving subscribers one free pick after 40 pulls in a banner. However, there are also those who argue for it as an incentive for more cash grabs on their part. Whether you view it one way or the other, we advise you to spend your money wisely, and wish you luck on your summoning summoners!
