FIFA Bans 30,000 Players Over Exploit

If you play FIFA 22 regularly, you might have encountered a FUT Champions exploit that lets players forfeit a game without actually losing. Well, EA are giving them a FIFA ban.

That’s right, although you forfeited the match, the game does not actually count it as a loss. For this exploit to work, all you need to do is go to the PS home during a match, and just stay there until the game eventually kicks you out.

Where did this glitch come from?

This glitch was originally found by user skillzapex on TikTok. He posted a video on how to do the exploit, and the video currently has more than 160k views. In the video, we can see that he had 3 remaining losses before the game started. He proceeded to play, and take us through the exploit. At the end, the game still showed that he had 3 remaining losses. 

The comments were full of people eager to try this glitch out. Skillzapex did mention that as far as he knew, it only worked for FUT Ultimate Team Champions, and not FUT Rivals. On October 16th, EA addressed the issue in this tweet by the official FIFA22 Twitter account.

Following that tweet, EA have identified 30,000 players who exploited this glitch regularly and have dealt them a 7-day ban from the game, effectively barring them from this week’s FUT Champions Finals.

Some players have stated that they were dealt with 1000-day bans instead of 7-days, effectively banning them until FIFA24 (where it potentially won’t even be called FIFA anymore). This turned out to be a mistake, and EA reviewed those sanctions, reducing them back to 7 days.

In EA’s Positive Play charter, it specifically says “Don’t use exploits, cheats, undocumented features, design errors, bugs or problems to get a leg up on others”, backing up EA’s decision to issue bans.
