Here’s all we know about the seventh season thus far.

What is Season 6 about?
Season 5 of Outlander covers a piece of the storyline from A Breath of Snow and Ashes, but it is a large book, so there is much more to come.
As the season begins, the Frasers are overcoming the traumas of the previous season: Claire’s kidnapping and sexual assault, Brianna’s abduction by Stephen Bonnet, Roger’s hanging and near-death experience, Jamie’s brush with death after being bitten by a poisonous snake, and the death of his godfather Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) at the Battle of Alamance.
Executive producer Ronald Moore spoke on this with EW: “Every year we approach it fresh. Should we limit it to one book every season? That’s what we’ve been doing up until now. But we’ve discussed splitting books and combining them.
“In the writers’ room, we want to be allowed to pick and select what feels most comfortable that year.”
Season 6 will see the return of the following key characters:
• Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall Fraser
• Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser
• Richard Rankin as Roger Wakefield
• Sophie Skelton as Brianna Randall
When it debuts, the new season of Outlander will air on STARZ and the STARZ app, with new episodes most likely launching on Sunday evenings. Previous seasons of Outlander may now be seen on Amazon, the STARZ app, and Hulu.
