Emlyn, a rising pop artist, finally released her catchy song ‘Temporary Funeral’ on June 10th, 2022. She found TikTok fame when a snippet of the song went viral back in May, with the now-iconic mention of four of her exes becoming a huge hit with fans.
She was already an established artist who lives in America, with her first release ‘Had Me at Hello’ appearing on Spotify back in 2019. Since then, she has released singles throughout 2020, 2021, and 2022’s lone single ‘Audacity’.
Her first album ‘Confessions of a Drama Queen’ came out last year and featured the popular song ‘Rapunzel’. The latest single is a part of her second album, released the same day, called ‘Loneliest B!tch in America’ and has a single titled the same.
The second album has 10 tracks and mostly focuses on the artist’s love life and personal life struggles but in an upbeat way.
‘Temporary Funeral’ focuses on how once you break up with someone they are essentially dead to you as they’re out of your life, so you can hold a temporary funeral to mourn the relationship you had to move on.
All of Emlyn’s songs appear to be in the same upbeat vein with lyrics that are relatable to her fans as well as a casual wider audience. She captures the essence of the feeling you get once you’re over a break-up and can focus on the future without the other person weighing you down.
Give the song and album a listen and let us know in the comments what you think!
