An earthquake had a magnitude of M 5.3 on the Richter scale with a depth of 33 km was felt by residents in East Java. The earthquake was centered at 9.84 latitudes, 112.51 east longitude or 78 km southwest of Malang Regency on Friday (22/10/2021) at 9.21 am. Quoting from the Twitter page @infoBMKG, BMKG emphasized that there is no potential for a tsunami.
“The epicenter of the earthquake was 78 km west of Malang Regency, with a depth of 33 km,” said Ma’muri as Head of Malang Geophysics Station.

People in Blitar, East Java felt the earthquake that occurred this morning. Many people rushed out of their houses when they heard a loud banging on the roof of the house. The earthquake was centered in the waters south of Yogyakarta, precisely south of Gunungkidul Regency. The location of the earthquake is 0.052LS, 110,44821 East Longitude or 118 km southwest of Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta.
