Dwayne Johnson Fancasted As Shao Kahn For Mortal Kombat

Ed Boon, creator of Mortal Kombat, fancasted Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the big baddie Shao Kahn. Yep, it’s The Rock week here on Pigeon Week.

For this one, we need a little backstory first. So, The Rock recently announced that he’s working on a huge video game movie adaptation, and it trended on Twitter. He hasn’t announced what the game is, but many people went on to joke and guess what it was.

Ed boon, Mortal Kombat’s created joined the fun and threw in his guess.

“He’d make a great Shao Kahn,” he tweeted with a thumbs up.

Even though this was for fun, this could mean The Rock is considered for a Shao Kahn role, especially since Mortal Kombat 2 is in the works.

Mortal Kombat 2021 was a reboot movie of the popular and brutal video game. It’s a live-action movie that features multiple famous characters like Liu Kang, Scorpion, and Sub-zero. However, they also introduced a new main character named Cole Young, who’s supposed to be Scorpion’s descendant.

So many people loved it that they’re making a sequel film, and it would only make sense for Shao Kahn to appear. Spoilers, but Shang Tsung failed and many of the villains died, which I believe was a bad decision. It would only make sense for Shao Kahn to come in and take over, unless they have some other baddie I don’t know about.

Either way, Ed boon likes Dwayne as Shao Kahn, and the sequel is bringing the best character, Johnny Cage.
