The Red Ribbon Army is back in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, and they’re bringing popular Japanese voice actors with them.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero got announced recently, and Jump Festa revealed another trailer on it.
Dragon Ball revealed the voice actors who will voice the new Red Ribbon Army through the trailer. Miyu Irino, a big name in Spirited Away and Japanese Sora in Kingdom Hearts, will voice Dr. Head, the creator of the Gamma androids that will fight our heroes. Other voice actors include Volcano Ota as Magenta and Ryota Takeuchi as Carmine.
I haven’t even talked about Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, the new androids that are apparently superheroes. Hiroshi Kamiya, the voice of Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan, will voice Gamma 1. Meanwhile, Mamoru Miyano, the voice of Light Yagami in Death Note, will play Gamma 2. It’s unclear what their goal is, but we at least know they will fight the main heroes.
The trailer and news came from this year’s Jump Festa convention, which showed a bunch of anime as a whole. Of course, though, there were other excitements to the trailer, such as Gohan’s return in Piccolo’s gi and cape. This alone gets Gohan fans’ hype.
The half-Saiyan boy had his peak in the Cell saga and had a tumble on the way down. The reason I say Cell saga is because most people agree that’s Gohan’s best moment. He hasn’t been doing much other than Ultimate Gohan in the Buu saga. He’s weaker, his fights in Tournament of Power weren’t great, and he’s kind of been on a losing streak.
I feel like the best way for Gohan and other side characters to get more love is to do the same thing they’re doing with Goku and Vegeta. Give everyone ridiculous power-ups. Imagine if Tien’s third awakened or something, or Piccolo had some kind of god ki. That would add some variety to the fights and give longtime fans something to be excited about. As a non-Dragon Ball fan, even I would get excited to see someone else in the limelight for a while.
