Disney Hotstar displays more series from Asia

Disney + Hotstar will present more Asian impressions. Announcement of 28 new titles at The Walt Disney’s 2021 Apac Content Showcase event received a positive response from the public. Disney’s APAC Head of Content & Development, Jessica Kam-Engle, said the global community had a high interest in the qualities of Asian content. Especially, in which that raises the original story and depicting local culture.
“We will continue to provide the best content. To collaborate with creative talents and leading story writers in Asia Pacific. So that they can shine internationally,” said Jessica through her official statement, (quoted from Tempo).
Anita (Director’s Cut)
The director cut version of Anita is one of the new biopic series that will come to Disney+. Specially curated into five parts; with duration of each parts around 45 minutes. Tells the figure of the legendary Hong Kong singer Anita MUI. MUI is dubbed “Madonna from Asia”, that changed the Cantonese pop music scene for fans throughout Asia. Anita starts airing from February 2, 2022. Will be deep dive into MUI’s personal life that is rarely publicized.
King of Savvy
Other planned shows are comes from South Korea’s original series; King of Savvy. Which soon will go on the production phase. Directed by director Kang Yoon-sung, will following the story of casino king; full of action and criminals involved. Starring Choi Min-Sik’s actor, King of Savvy is an extraordinary story of the struggle to survive and risk. The series tells someone who tries to restore his success.
A Lifelong Journey
Hail from People’s Republic of China. A Drama Series called ‘A Lifelong Journey’; A novel adaptation, which has won the prestigious award of 2019’s Mao Dun Literature Prize. A Lifelong Journey starred Lei Jia-yin, Xin Bai-Qing, and Song Jia. The series tells the story of a coarse worker and his family, along with various social changes of cross-generation issue that they are experiencing.
Taiwan Crime Stories
Other shows that are in the process of production are Taiwan Crime Stories. This series is began filming around November 2021; and planned to air total of 12 episodes. Inspired by four criminal case investigations; series of case of mass murder, rape, murder, and also fraud. The serial features Rhydian Vaughan, Patrick Shih, Simon Hsueh, Allison Lin, Frederick Lee, Wang Po-Chieh, and more.
