If you need tabular lists of the contents of directories or drives, including information about the files they contain, such as specifying the file size or file type, you won’t get very far with Windows Explorer. Apart from the creation of a screenshot, although the content here is hardly suitable for further processing in Excel or Word, or the cumbersome way via the command line, the Windows standard tools do not offer a satisfactory solution for the seemingly simple task of creating file lists in tabular form.
the tools DirPrintOK by Nenad Hrg offers a remedy. The software enables a clear listing of the contents of a directory and prints or exports the contents in list form, including all file information. These range from standard information such as size, date, author and last access to the ID3 tag information of MP3 files. DirPrintOK lists all available file information, before printing or exporting, the required information can be selected or deselected. The export is optionally in the formats XLS, HTML, CSV, TXT. The generated file can then be opened in Excel, Word or free alternatives such as Libre Office.
A notice: In addition to the installable version, DirPrintOK is also available in a mobile, portable version for use on a USB stick.
Tip: We also offer the program from the German manufacturer SoftwareOK Q dir to download. The freeware is a file manager with a four-window look that is a good alternative or extension to Windows Explorer.
