DC Comics Makes One of Its Most Popular Character Canon LGBT

DC Comics has been a hard hitting powerhouse that has brought in fans by the thousands for generations. From characters like Batman, Superman, and Wonderwoman, DC has spread its wings and taken over the comic world. DC Comics has taken itself from comic books, to animated films, to blockbuster movie series. Creating beloved and action-filled stories that have entertained people globally, generation after generation, always adding and expanding itself into the giant that it is today.

Quite recently, DC has decided to make one of its fan-favorite characters canon LGBT.

Tim Drake, Batman’s third Robin, was announced to be bisexual in one of its spin-off lines “Batman Mythos”. Robin was featured to be asking out another male character which confirmed the suspicions that many have had about the character for over a decade. 

This announcement excited so many fans who were already speculating on the sexual orientation of their beloved Robin. However, it has brought about a controversy over the newest addition to the DC Comic LGBT team. 

Many believe that this is not appropriate or believable for a character that has long since been mentioned to be in love with one “true love” tie, Stephanie Brown. Others believe that there were clues of Drake’s sexuality spread through previous comics and until now was pushed to the background. 

However it came to be that Tim Drake’s sexuality was grown and written into the storyline of DC Comics, it is always amazing to see more representation in such a hot-hitting arena. Here’s hoping to see more in the future.
