Dani Alves Officially Returns to Barcelona

After his departure in the transfer season five years ago, Daniel Alves has finally officially returned to Barcelona for a second period. The news of Dani Alves’ return was announced by Barcelona on Friday (12/11) local time.

The 38-year-old wing-back chose to rejoin the Blaugrana squad on a free transfer on a one-year contract.

Alves is no stranger to Barcelona fans. The Brazilian player achieved a lot of success during his Barcelona uniform from 2008-2016.

The return of Dani Alves to Barcelona cannot be separated from the role of Xavi and the club’s president, Joan Laporta. Where at this time they are thinking about a suitable role for Dani Alves as a player who has experience as well as a senior Barcelona player so that he can become a role model for young players.

Dani Alves is also known as a champion mental player where he has won 23 trophies with Barcelona. This is crucial considering that Barcelona is slumped in the middle of the table where Barca is currently ninth in the Spanish League with 17 points from 12 matches, which resulted in the sacking of Ronald Koeman as the coach.

“FC Barcelona and Dani Alves have in principle reached an agreement to join the first team for the remainder of the season,” read a Barcelona statement.

Alves even recently helped Brazil win a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, plus two Copa America titles and two Confederations Cup trophies with the national team.

“I left (from there) saying when Barcelona needed and wanted me, I would return wherever I was,” said Alves some time ago.
