After a year of no news on the game, the developers decided to announce a Tribe Nine anime adaptation.
If the art style looks familiar, you’re not crazy. Kazutaka Kodaka, the man behind Danganronpa, came up with this game and is now getting Too Kyo Games to publish it. Although, it is a mobile RPG, and no news has come up until now.
Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, announced that the game’s anime will drop on January 10, 2022. Alongside the anime, there will also be an original manga and a Webtoon alongside it to celebrate. Rui Komatsuzaki, Danganronpa’s character designer will also tag along.
Too Kyo Games, Akatsuki Inc., Liden Films, and Funimation are all backing this anime, and it will be released on Funimation internationally.
Tribe Nine is a colorful post-apocalyptic future of Tokyo where gangs control the city. They all compete against each other in a violent version of baseball that includes bats, mitts, and crazy futuristic weapons. They even released the anime’s opening on YouTube.
Since Kodaka left Spike Chunsoft, he founded Too Kyo Games. The company released Death Come True and World’s End Club, which both received mixed reviews. We’ll have to wait and see how Tribe Nine turns out.
