Following months of COVID lockdown, Shanghai declared on Sunday (August 14) that all schools, including kindergartens, primary and intermediate schools, would reopen on September 1. Before leaving the site, all teachers and students will be required to undergo daily COVID nucleic acid testing.
The Shanghai Municipal Education Commission indicated that the city would also require 14 days of self-health management inside the city prior to the reopening of the schools. In mid-March, Shanghai closed all schools.
Many communities are glad that schools will reopen, but fears about COVID remain as China continues to adhere to its dynamic zero policy.
For the course of the semester, Shanghai enabled the majority of students to continue their home studies. It also allowed some middle and high school pupils to return to their studies.
