In the wake of the incident involving vlogger Nas Daily and tattoo master Apo Whang-Od, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has decided to stop accepting new candidates for her Nas Academy classes. On Sunday, August 8, her talent management company, Cornerstone Entertainment, announced that the Catriona Gray Academy, as it was once known, would be put on hold.
“Cornerstone Entertainment, Catriona Gray, and Nas Academy have agreed to stop accepting new applicants for the Catriona Gray Academy until the issue of ‘Whang-Od’ has been fully resolved,” the statement read.
“Cornerstone will continue to monitor the progress of this incident,” the statement further said.

Catriona’s remarkable tale, from her financial problems to becoming Miss Universe in 2018, has been highlighted by Nas Daily. The beauty queen’s story was included in a six-minute video posted on the popular content creator’s Facebook page, and she is one of the many Filipino celebrities chosen to teach at the Nas Academy.
Grace Palicas, Whang od’s grandmother, claimed Nas Daily’s Whang-od Academy is a “scam,” claiming the vlogger’s crew did not sign a contract with the 104-year-old.
Nas Academy responded by posting a video of Whang-Od affixing her thumbprint to a document that is said to be her contract for an online tattoo course.
Whang-Od is regarded as one of the last living practitioners of traditional Kalinga tattooing, which is done by hand with thorns and charcoal for ink. The Dangal ng Haraya Award for Intangible Cultural Heritage was bestowed upon her by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts in 2018.
