The hard-working crew of Gotham Garage takes late nights and overnights to the next level in this reality show telling the work, stories, and genuine comedy occurring in a custom auto body shop. At the auto body shop of this show, Car Masters: Rust To Riches, the crew takes on individual jobs, buying cheap, almost scrapable cars and other parts to custom build easy cars, then sell them for a profit to continue funding more specific, high-payout build jobs.

The eventual high-upgraded cars for their wealthy customers are always a very niche, intricate vehicles that could easily be called pieces of art. Sometimes specific cars are built to perform certain extreme tricks and visual spectacles, other times the cars are created to show certain themes or customer interests. They also build for car shows, working hard to keep building their notoriety and business itself to national and hopefully even worldwide status.

Each episode shows unique builds for different markets, both for professional and recreational audiences. There have been Ford Thunderbirds turned into “rocket cars”, the creation of life-size versions of Hot Wheels cars, fixing up a jalopy for a local race, and even working straight through months to build a 1955 Futura for a big upcoming auto show.

Behind the scenes of the finished projects past the tense, all-stakes-in haggling, and ultimately really pleased customers is the most fascinating part, seeing the steps toward the final results while witnessing the comedic interactions between the members of the close-knit crew.
