Cancelled Physical Event for E3 2022

It hasn’t been good news in 2022 so far as bigger conferences like BlizzCon were completely cancelled, and now E3.

“Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022. We remain incredibly excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details soon.” (the E3 Operator, ESA)

COVID has been an ongoing issue since 2019 and it has been now been the norm to be weary about holding in person events. This might be for the best all around even if it doesn’t seem like it right now.

This however doesn’t mean E3 is completely cancelled. Luckily technology in this era can easily hold conferences via live streams now and most gaming companies by now have prepared for that.

The news won’t stay hidden forever, there will be ways to get around this – just stay glued to your computer around the duration of the event (predicted mid June)

E3 is one of the biggest, most celebrated and hyped conferences in the video game industry: often big projects are unveiled and next generation consoles and tech news also.

No official plans set in stone for how the conference will go about this year. However, bigger gaming companies found ways to show their games, and share news to the public online last year. You should feel optimistic that a similar format will be done again, this year. Stay tuned for E3 this year.
