BTS Scores as the Second Highest-Grossing Boxscore Report of All-time in the US


BTS’ Permission to Dance on Stage in Las Vegas which was held on April 8, 9, 15, and 16 scores as the second highest-grossing boxscore report of all time in the US, only behind Bruce Springsteen’s 10 shows at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford (2003).


The four-day shows earned $35.945 million from selling 199,697 tickets only for the show in Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas. The concert also has a live-streaming called Live Play, streamed in MGM Grand Garden Arena for the 4-days show. On the last day, the concert was streamed online worldwide. In total, Permission to Dance on Stage in Las Vegas earned $56.4 million from 623,761 tickets sold at the Allegiant Stadium, MGM Grand Garden Arena, and the Livestream, making it awarded the highest-grossing boxscore report of 2022 and second-highest-grossing boxscore report of all-time in the U.S.

In the 2021 top touring artist chart by touring data, BTS topped the chart with $188.5 million from over 3 million tickets sold in 7 in-person and virtual concerts performed. BTS held two concerts in 2021: “MUSTER SOWOOZOO,” a virtual fan-meeting concert, and “Permission to Dance on Stage,” which was held in Sofi Stadium, Los Angeles at the end of 2021.


Permission to Dance on Stage in Las Vegas concluded the Permission to Dance (PTD) on Stage concert series. In total, there are 12 shows played under this concert series. Started with PTD on Stage Online concert in October 2021, continued with 4-days PTD on Stage in Los Angeles, 3-days PTD on Stage in Seoul, and ended with 4-days PTD on Stage in Las Vegas. The concert series earned a total of $230.7 million from 3.416 million tickets sold in 12 shows performed across all formats (in-person and live streams).


To date, there is no news about BTS’ upcoming world tour, but it is speculated that BTS will hold another world tour after the release of their upcoming album on June 10, 2022.
