The American singer, songwriter, author and visual artist Bob Dylan was sued by a woman who claimed that the singer abused her back in 1965 when she was aged 12.
Her allegations stated that she was made to ingest alcohol and drugs and was sexually abused multiple times by Dylan under the inebriation of those. It also states that the abuse used to happen at Dylan’s apartment at Chelsea Hotel located in New York.
However, Dylan and his team’s mouthpiece have denied any such claims and told the media, “The 56 year old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.”
The accuser has also alleged that the abuse happened repeatedly for a period of six weeks between the April and May month, 1965. The accuser’s identity is still under the wraps and she is identified by her initials JC. The now 68-year old accuser is residing in the Connecticut state these days.
However, between April end and the beginning of May, until May 10, Dylan was on a UK tour. After the UK, Dylan had visited France and Portugal until the commencement of June.
Dylan, who is a recipient of the honorable Nobel prize in singing, is 80 years old at present and carries accusations of assault, battery, false imprisonment and is suffering from emotional distress.
The accuser who has alleged Dylan is seeking unspecified damages and a jury trial, and has claimed to have undergone severe psychological damage and facing emotional trauma after the alleged assault took place.
Post the lodging of the complaint, the New York Supreme Court received the legal documents of the case on Friday, under the state child victim’s act.
