BLACKPINK joins WEVERSE Fan Community

You read it right! BLACKPINK will be joining the Weverse soon!

YG Entertainment announced this July 14 that the group would be joining Weverse, a global fan community network. On August 2, BLACKPINK’s Weverse community will launch, allowing users to communicate more readily wuth BLINK (BLACKPINK’s official fan club name) members all around the world.

The move comes after a January agreement between YG Entertainment and Hybe, the K-Pop powerhouse behind BTS, Tomorrow X Together, and Enhypen.

BLINK’s are especially interested in finding out what new special content or activites will be presented through Weverse as their fifth anniversary approaches on August 8. According to a source from YG Entertainment, this will be part of BLACKPINK’s fifth anniversary initiative, the “4+1 Project.”

The two major agency labels in the K-Pop industry, have agreed to have more YG artists on the worldwide platform while also boosting Hybe’s music distribution and merchandise operations.

The following bands such as TREASURE and IKON’s already joined the platform and BLACKPINK is the third YG Entertainments artist to join the Weverse.

BLACKPINK debuted in August 2016, and since then, they’ve had a string of hits, including the “DDU-DU-DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love.” The group created history when their first full-length album, “THE ALBUM,” debuted at No.2 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart in October  last year. With the album, BALCKPINK became the first Korean girl group to achieve the status of “million seller.”

BLACKPINK, behind American pop sensation Justin Bieber, has the second-largest subscriber following on YouTube among musicians, with 63 million followers. BLACKPINK also has more that 22 million Spotify followers.
