President Joe Biden gifted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau the same pair of aviator sunglasses he presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Biden gifted the pair of aviator sunglasses during the Three Amigos North American Leaders’ Summit in November last year.
A few months earlier, Biden gifted a pair of aviator sunglasses to Putin at a summit in Geneva, Switzerland.
President Biden is often photographed wearing a pair aviator sunglasses. Probably, this kind of aviator glasses is one of his favourites. The 23-karat gold-framed glasses are boxed with White House insignia on them.
Trudeau declared the aviator glasses are worth around US$ 300. in the official registry along with a watch that President Biden presented him earlier at a summit.
However, the Prime Minister’s office refused to comment on this. It is anticipated that the prime minister’s office will respond to this sooner or later.
The polarized glasses are made by Randolph Engineering, which supplies aviator glasses to America’s Air Force and Navy pilots.
The political analysts are watching this development with great curiosity. Andrew Sabl, professor of political science at the University of Toronto, said giving the same gift to his closest ally and Russian President Vladimir Putin is “awkward” for Biden. However, he also recognizes that it could also be the fault of the White House protocol team.
