Bae Suzy to release ‘Satellite’, her first digital single in 4 years

Bae Suzy, a South Korean singer-actress, is ready to make a comeback by releasing a digital single in February 2022. This was confirmed by Suzy’s label Management SOOP by releasing a teaser image of the actress’ new song, on February 9, 2022.

Suzy’s agency Management SOOP said that “Satellite” will feature Suzy’s vocals that are different from previous songs. Suzy also participated in writing the lyrics for the song. The agency said the song contains Suzy’s longing for the unattainable and expresses her unwavering feelings, per Joynews24.

“Satellite” is set to drop on February 17 at 6 pm KST. The track is inspired by British pop and was produced by musician Kang Hyun-min, a singer, songwriter, and music producer.

Suzy started her career as a member of Miss A, an idol group under JYP Entertainment. in 2010, alongside Fei, Jia, and Min. After seven years of career in the Korean music industry, Miss A disbanded in 2017. This decision was taken after several Miss A personnel no longer continued their contracts with JYP Entertainment.

She left JYP after his contract expired in May 2016. While Min ended his contract in April 2017. Only Fei and Suzy were still under JYP at that time. Two years later, Suzy decided not to renew her contract with JYP Entertainment and moved to the Management SOOP agency in 2019. Under SOOP Entertainment, Suzy has focused on developing her acting career by starring in several Korean series such as While You Were Sleeping (2017), Vagabond (2019), Start-Up (2020), and more.
