Sergio Aguero has reportedly had to quit the sport that has made his name, due to recent heart problems, according to a shocking report from Spain.
One of the legends who brought Manchester City to his first trophy had a breathing problem when Barcelona faced Alaves at Camp Nou some time ago. The 33-year-old was taken to hospital for heart tests and rested for at least the next three months while further tests are carried out.
Initial diagnosis showed that Aguero had an arrhythmia where the heart beats at an abnormal rhythm. However, Catalunya Rdio’s ‘El Mati’ show claims that the pathology of Argentina international is more complicated than expected.
In essence, they stated that there was a possibility that the footballer would be forced to stop playing football or have to hang up his boots.
The new report states ‘the medical resonance and stress tests he’s had in recent days suggest that his heart problem is more serious than initially thought. Worse, it could cause Aguero’s physical condition to become ‘unsuitable’ for professional football at the level required by Barcelona’.
Aguero’s former team City has also been pouring out support for their legend since the terrifying incident. Coach Pep Guardiola even sent a clear message to Aguero that his health and the rest of his life were far more important than what was left of his career.
Guardiola said: “Of course, this is difficult news for everyone. But especially for him (Aguero) and his family.“
“We wish him well, he knows that, from everyone at Manchester City.“
“We wish him a speedy recovery, but it doesn’t matter the time. Health and life are more important than anything and he knows that.“
“I’m pretty sure he’s in good hands, very good doctors will take care of him and he’ll take care of himself.“
