After three days of being released on Netflix, Arcane: League of Legends has taken over the popular series Squid Game’s spot as the most popular show on Netflix. Arcane became the top show on Netflix in 38 countries and became the most searched on streaming sites since its release date, November 6th.
Squid Game has been the most popular show on Netflix for several weeks since September 2021. Quoted from Bloomberg, on October 16th, Squid Game has made $891.1 million since its premiere.
Arcane also succeeded in enticing an audience of millions around the world. Not only have they touched League of Legends players, but Arcane has also received positive responses and praises from non-gamer audiences. It only took a couple of days for Arcane to become the number one popular series. Arcane’s score on Rotten Tomatoes reached 98 percent and 9.4/10 in IMDB.
High-quality animation became the benchmark of Arcane. The solid voice acting also plays a huge role in livening up the characters. These points received many praises from fans and critics, it’s no wonder that Arcane has attracted a lot of attention.
Adapted from the popular MOBA game League of Legends, Arcane is about two sisters, Vi and Jinx, who are separated by power. The rivalry between Pitlover and Zaun had brought them together into a fight. Caitlyn, Jayce, and Viktor will also join the battle with them. Produced by its own developer, Riot Games brought famous celebrities to play roles as the champions, among them Hailee Steinfeld as Vi and Ella Purnell as Jinx.
