Market research firm Strategy Analytics released its latest report on 5G smartphone shipments in the world for the third quarter of 2021.
In the report, it was stated that Apple managed to become the company with the most 5G phone shipments in the third quarter this year with a market share of around 25 percent.
Apple itself has launched the iPhone 13 Series line that comes with 5G connectivity support last September.
Strategy Analytics did not reveal how many units of 5G phones Apple managed to ship. What is clear, under Apple there are several vendors of Android phones that have a lower market share than the iPhone maker.
Some of these companies in sequence are Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, Honor, Realme, and other smartphone vendors who are members of the “Others” category.
Xiaomi is in the second position after filling the market with various 5G phones from various segments, starting from the Poco M3 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 10 5G, to the Mi 11T series.
Meanwhile, Samsung has also launched a lot of their 5G phones for various segments, from the Galaxy A22 5G to its newest foldable phone that supports 5G networks such as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3.
The order of vendors with the most 5G smartphone shipments in the world is as follows:
- Apple
-
Xiaomi
-
Samsung
-
Oppo
-
Vivo
-
Honor
-
Realme
-
Others
Although Apple, Xiaomi, and Samsung are in the top three as the most 5G phone shippers in the third quarter of 2021, Honor has been named by Strategy Analytics as the cellphone company that has the fastest-growing shipments of 5G phones.
The mobile phone vendor is recorded to have an increase in 5G mobile phones in the third quarter of 2021 by 194 percent thanks to various new 5G phones such as the Honor 50 5G, Honor 50 SE 5G, to the Honor 50 Pro 5G.
“The popularity of 5G phones from Honor is growing rapidly in China. Honor was previously a Huawei sub-brand, but was split up as an independent company around the beginning of last year,” said Yiwen Wu, Associate Director of Strategy Analytics.
