Ricky Gervais’s confirming the third season
Ricky Gervais revealed that he was concerned at first about the possibility of the third season of After Life. However, a third season was set from May 2020, but due to the uncertainties surrounding the Covid-19, it was unknown when filming would continue. Filming for the third season began over a year later and ended in June 2021. Six new episodes will put the series to an end this Friday after nearly two years of patiently waiting (season two was published in April 2020).
Season 3 will continue to show the narrative of Tony. A local journalist who battles to deal with his sorrow following the death of his wife Lisa; in the dark comedy setup. Before the comedic drama’s release date; picture sneak peeks and a trailer has given fans a taste of what they can expect. As well as confirmed that we’ll see more of Lisa (Kerry Godliman), who taped video clips to lead Tony through life before her death.
Season 3 may be the final season, but there’s still a lot to read before the show’s ending, including Tony’s possible blossoming relationship with nurse Emma (Ashley Jensen), his unsettled sentiments following his father’s (David Bradley) passing, and the possibility of Tony permitting himself to have a happy ending.
This season will be the ‘greatest one yet,’ according to Gervais. With all of our favourite characters coming back to take their places. And as also, a few resolution in a few fans in mind; Ricky Gervais think it will be great to ending it with a few tidy bow to making it more neat.
