When you are living in Selangor, you might think that there are no places for you to visit to have a good time and relieve your stress without having to go abroad. So, I have made a small list of places you can visit, that are safe for children to visit too.
1. Farm in the City

Located in Seri Kembangan, Farm in the City is a perfect place for families with children to visit. The people there can feed, pet, and even ride the animals. The farm also serves a purpose as a conservation park in the city. It is home to exotic animals, such as peacocks, ostriches, and even alpacas. They have a retail shop that sells various goods like pens, cute notebooks, and even ostrich eggs that the ostriches have hatched were turned into beautiful decorations.
2. Chocolate Museum

Address: Jalan Teknologi 3/5, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Operating Hours: Daily, 10 am – 4.30 pm
Fee: free
The Chocolate Museum is a dream place for chocolate lovers. This place starts off by educating the visitors about chocolates like the history, how it was first discovered, and the process of making chocolates. The visitors can see the process of how chocolates are made and can even taste them. They also have some good spots for people who like to take photos. The tour ends with a retail shop that sells various kinds of chocolate at a reasonable price.
3. Fireflies Park

Address: Jalan Club, Kampung Kuantan, 45000 Kuala Selangor, Selangor
Operating hours: daily, 7.45 pm – 10.30 pm
Fee: adults – RM 15 | child – RM8
Located in Kampung Kuantan, Fireflies Park is 9km away from Kuala Selangor. Kuala Selangor is a small coastal village northwest of Kuala Lumpur. Upon arriving in the park, you can rent a rowing boat with a local boatman guiding the tour for about 30 – 45 minutes. You would wear life jackets in case something bad happens. Though, there are no cases of it yet.
4. I-City

Address: I-Gallery, Jalan Multimedia, I-City, 40000 Shah Alam, Selangor
Operating hours: daily, 10 am – 12 am
Fees: varies for each ride
I-City is a theme park located in Shah Alam. This place has numerous places for different activities that include SnoWalk, WaterWorld, House of Horror, Ferris Wheel, and 5D Cinema. The ticket prices vary for each place. It is best to visit it at night because the place would light up and you can see beautiful sceneries.
5. Sungai Serai Hot Spring

Address: Kampung Sungai Serai, 43100 Hulu Langat, Selangor
Operating hours: daily, 24 hours
Fee: RM 1
So far, there are around 60 hot springs that have been discovered in Malaysia and this is one of them. Fortunately, this place is open to the public and many locals would come here. There are some chairs in the hot spring so people would sit and often soak their legs. Though there are no toilets and changing room, so you would need to dry yourself properly.
6. Sunway Lagoon

Address: Jalan PJS 11/11, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor
Operating hours: daily, 10 am – 6 pm
Fee: adult – RM 202 | child – RM 170
Sunway Lagoon is an amusement park with a lot of rides. Though there are some rides that are not included in the admission price such as bungee jump, G Force X and Go Kart. The park even has a wildlife park that has over 150 species of animals that the visitors can see and interact with. The wildlife park has white lions, meerkats, white tigers, and even panthers.
These are some places that you can visit during the day off with your family in Selangor. Most of these places are open every day. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, some of these places require you to book and pay online.
