Even though 2023 is still a year away, a few highly anticipated films have already been revealed for the year. Here are my top three movies that have been announced to come your way in 2023.

 

Barbie

It’s finally going to happen. After years of animated Barbie movies, the first real action feature starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken is in the works which were announced in 2019. Not only that, but Greta Gerwig, who directed Little Women, is directing the long-awaited live-action Barbie movie.

 

This iconic character will be brought to life via a collaboration between Mattel and Warner Bros. They unveiled the first teaser image, which featured Margot Robbie as Barbie in a pink convertible wearing a polka-dotted blue headband and a striped blue halter top. Her trademark blond locks are fashioned in loose waves as she smiles widely at the camera.

 

 

Wonka

According to Collider, there was a huge list of applicants for the role of the titular chocolatier, which included stars like Donald Glover and Ryan Gosling. Timothee Chalamet, a young heartthrob fresh off of 2021 that served as a star turn for the young actor, was cast for the role.

 

Wonka was supposed to be released on March 17, 2023, however, Warner Bros. announced a reshuffle to the release date, pushing it back nine months. It now has the December 15, 2023, prime pre-Christmas schedule. Because it is a musical and a classic childhood tale, it is expected to do well in the upcoming winter months, especially because the streets of Oxford were turned into a snowy environment for filming.

 

 

The Flash

The superhero will eventually return to the big screen in June of 2023, after several delays. Following the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which won both fan honors at the 2021 Academy Awards, Ezra Miller will reprise his role as the titular hero in the film, which will be his fourth appearance in the expanded universe.

 

Despite the fact that this will be the first standalone Flash film, it is unsurprising that it will be one of the most anticipated films of the year, given that it will have two different Batman characters. Fans of the caped crusader may look forward to Ben Affleck’s final appearance as the character, as well as Michael Keaton’s comeback to the role.
