Studio Ghibli launched the first film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984) which was originally a manga series published by Tokuma Shoten. This film released back in 2001; tells the story of a 10-year-old girl who entered a fantasy world called Kami and tries to return to the human world. Grave of the Fireflies (1988)

Follows in the story of the Second World War set in Kobe, in September 1945. It’ss inspired by Akiyuki Nosaka short autobiographical story of his; who was a victim of the bombing in Kobe during the Second World War; written and directed by Isao Takahata. Nominated as one of the best war movies of all time. And even won awards at the 1989 Blue Ribbon Award in the special award category; and the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival 1994 for the Animation Jury Award and Rights of the Child Award.
